Video: Florida Marlins Pitcher Smashes Gatorade Cup Holder In Dugout After Being Removed From Game In Middle of At-Bat

Florida Marlins manager Jack McKeon made the unusual move of removing pitcher Clay Hensley from the game in the middle of an at-bat in the bottom of the third inning.  That apparently upset Hensley, who smashed a Gatorade cup holder in the dugout as he left the game.

In the bottom of the third inning at Citi Field in New York, Marlins pitcher Clay Hensley had loaded the bases against the hometown New York Mets.  With Mets third baseman David Wright at the plate, Hensley missed badly with a 1-1 pitch and nearly hit Wright.

Before Hensley was able to make another pitch, the call was made to the bullpen.  Once they confirmed that Burke Badenhop was ready to come into the game, Marlins manager Jack McKeon immediately came out to the mound and removed Hensley from the game.

Hensley was clearly frustrated as he returned to the dugout.  Before he made his way back to the locker room, Hensley grabbed a baseball bat and smashed a Gatorade cup holder filled with empty cups, which went flying everywhere.

It's bad enough that Hensley did not have a great outing, but it looks worse after he couldn't control his temper.  You have to wonder who was going to clean up Hensley's mess after this happened.

At least Hensley could have found an empty water cooler to take his frustration out on, like Giants reliever Brian Wilson did a couple of months ago.
