Fight Breaks Out At Sheraton Hawaii Bowl (Video)

A fight broke out between Nevada and Southern Miss yesterday at the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl late in the first half.

Southern Miss wide receiver Tracy Lampley caught a 2-yard touchdown in the corner of the end zone over Nevada cornerback Marlon Johnson. Both players fell on the ground after the catch, but Lampley may had said something to Johnson as they were getting up. Johnson shoved Lampley as Lampley's teammates were coming over to congratulate him, which may not have been the smartest thing as Johnson found himself surrounded by five Southern Miss players. Nevada players came over to help out, but fortunately the officials were right on top of things and got between the players before any major punches were thrown. It seemed like it was raining penalty flags for a moment, as at least five or six of them were thrown in the air by various officials.

In the end, Johnson and Southern Miss offensive lineman Joe Duhon received offsetting personal foul penalties, but the touchdown stood and no one was ejected.

Come on, guys. It's Christmas Eve and you're in Hawaii! How angry can you be?

In the end, Southern Miss won the game 24-17.
