Since the holidays are rapidly approaching, we're going to try out a special category of posts called "Holiday Videos", where we scour the Internet for videos of some classic Christmas songs. Today's entry is "Jingle Bell Rock", as sung by Daryl Hall and John Oates.
The Hall and Oates remake of the song, sung by Daryl Hall, is arguably the best version of the song since the original "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms. Unfortunately, the video for this song doesn't do it justice, as it is extremely cheesy with bad "acting" and is probably something that the band would rather forget, especially the bandmates who had to dress in costumes as the "relatives".
Note that there is actually a second Hall and Oates version of "Jingle Bell Rock" which uses the same music track but has John Oates singing. Although that version of the song is worth a listen, it's the Daryl Hall version that stands the test of time.
So whether you enjoy the quality of the song or enjoy watching bad music videos, this is definitely worth a look.
