Rajon Rondo ejected for bumping referee (Video)

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo was ejected in the final minute of Sunday night's NBA playoff Game 1 in Atlanta for bumping into the referee after arguing over a call, and he may be suspended for the next game in the series against the Hawks.

It happened with under 45 seconds left as players on the Celtics and Hawks were diving on the floor for a loose ball. Referee Marc Davis blew the whistle and Rondo was expecting a jump ball, but instead Davis called a personal foul on Celtics forward Brandon Bass.

Rondo got right into Davis' face and screamed at him, smacking his hands for emphasis, which prompted Davis to turn towards the scorers' table and call a technical foul call on Rondo. As Davis' back was turned, Rondo bumped Davis from behind, prompting a quick second technical foul call from Davis, resulting in an immediate ejection from the game.

The Celtics did not score another point as the Hawks closed out the game to earn the 83-74 victory and take a 1-0 series lead. If Rondo is suspended for Game 2 against the Hawks, the Celtics could be in real trouble.
