Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Al Albuquerque made an extremely unusual move when fielding a grounder during Sunday's American League Division Series Game 2 against the Oakland A's by kissing the baseball before throwing it to first base.
Naturally, A's players were extremely upset by what they considered a classless move.
It was the only out that Albuquerque was required to make, as it was the final out of the ninth inning, and the Tigers won the game in the bottom of the ninth with a sacrifice fly for a 5-4 victory and a 2-0 ALDS series lead.
