Tommy Tuberville yanks headphones off assistant coach's head (Video)

Texas Tech Red Raiders head football coach Tommy Tuberville has some explaining to do after he appeared to yank the headphones off the head of a graduate assistant during the fourth quarter of Saturday's NCAA football game against the Kansas Jayhawks.

It happened in the fourth quarter with 9:57 left after Texas Tech was flagged for a penalty with too many men on the field in a 4th and 1 situation. Seconds after the penalty was called, Tuberville was caught by cameras ripping the headphones off the head of graduate assistant Kevin Oliver, and the hat came off Oliver's head along with them.

Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche Journal reported that that the extra player on the field that caused the penalty was a special teams player, and Oliver is a special teams coach. Tuberville was quoted by Williams as saying "I reached to grab [Oliver] and pull him off. When I pulled, I missed his shirt and I grabbed his (headset)...and his microphone ripped off his head. I was trying to get him off the field."

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this. You be the judge: Are you buying Tuberville's explanation?
