FOX Sports had an embarrassing mishap during the opening of Friday night's broadcast of the AT&T Cotton Bowl between Texas A&M and Oklahoma when they missed the opening kickoff of the game while conducting a sideline interview.
Sideline reporter Julie Alexandria was interviewing Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin as the kickoff took place, so Sumlin missed the opening kickoff along with all of the viewers. FOX didn't even switch cameras to capture the live action while the interview was taking place.
There's no excuse for making a mistake like that during a broadcast, and we're surprised that Sumlin didn't decline the interview so that hewalk away because of the bad timing. Good thing FOX isn't carrying the BCS National Championship game Monday night.
