Division III pitcher tackles runner trying to score on wild pitch (Video)

During a Division III baseball game Sunday, a Hendrix University runner was tackled by a pitcher from Berry University as he was trying to score from third on a wild pitch.

Berry pitcher Levi Austin threw a pitch low an inside to Hendrix batter Matthew Simmons which got away from catcher Devin Skelton. That gave the Hendrix runner on third, Collin Radack, the opportunity to score. Austin was determined not to let Radack score, but instead of covering home, Austin made a beeline for Radack and took him out with the cheap shot before he could reach the plate, nearly igniting a brawl between the two teams.

The umpires credited Radack with the run on the play, putting Hendrix up 6-2. In the end, however, Berry won the game 9-7.
