In Monday international soccer action, New Zealand defeneder Ben Sigmund received a red card in the OSN Cup Final for stomping United Arab Emirates striker Ali Mabkhout in the 89th minute of the 2-0 loss.
Down 2-0 to UAE in the 89th minute, Sigmund tripped Mabkhout and then delivered the stomp on Mabkhout's legs, with both feet, and was sent off immediately. However, Sigmund's conscience took hold after the game and he apologized to his teammates.
