Johnny Cueto drops ball as Pirates fans chant his name (Video)

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Johnny Cueto seemed to have trouble blocking out the Pittsburgh Pirates fans calling his name during Tuesday night's National League Wild Card playoff game at PNC Park, as he dropped the ball while standing at the mound as Pirates fans chanted his name.

It happened in the second inning as Cueto was preparing to throw a 2-1 pitch to Pirates catcher Russell Martin. As the "Cueto" chant began to hit a fever pitch, the baseball fell out of Cueto's glove and rolled down the pitcher's mound onto the grass.

The drop by Cueto foreshadowed things to come, as on the very next pitch, Martin hit a home run to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead, and the Pirates never looked back. Cueto only lasted 3 1/3 innings after giving up four runs on 7 hits, and the Pirates defeated the Reds 6-2 to advance to the Divisional Playoff round against the St. Louis Cardinals.
