Royals pitchers chastise rookie Kyle Zimmer with 'Old Guy' jerseys (Video)

Kansas City Royals rookie pitcher Kyle Zimmer has learned two quick lessons during his first major league spring training camp: Be careful what you say to the media, and don't call your teammates old.

Zimmer was quoted by MLB.com when discussing his experience in the Royals camp so far that "it's great just being around some of these old guys and picking up tidbits here and there as I can.".

Naturally, the Royals veteran pitchers didn't care for being called "old", but found a way to have some fun with it while teaching Zimmer a lesson he won't soon forget. James Shields led a group of veteran pitchers that had the words "OLD GUY" stitched on the backs of their jerseys. That wasn't enough for 40-year-old Guillermo Mota, however, as he took it a step further by getting the words "REAL OLD GUY" on the back of his.

Zimmer was a good sport about it, and we're sure he'll choose his words more wisely next time. Come to think of it, it's a good lesson for all of us.
