Mets 'Home Run Apple' rises at wrong time (Video)

The New York Mets "Home Run Apple" has some technical difficulties in the bottom of the seventh inning during Wednesday night's game at Citi Field against Washington when it activated at the wrong time.

Mets left fielder Andrew Brown was in the middle of his at-bat with a 2-1 count when the apple began rising prematurely. The game was delayed a few seconds as they lowered the apple back to its starting position. No word yet on who was responsible for the goof.

Could it have been foreshadowing? Unfortunately, no, as Brown ended up striking out. Typical Mets.

The Nationals won the game 5-1.
