Albert Pujols forgets number of outs, Astros OF turns unassisted DP (Video)

Some poor baserunning by L.A. Angels slugger Albert Pujols allowed Houston Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick to accomplished a rare feat by turning an unassisted double play during Thursday night's game in Anaheim.

It happened in the bottom of the fourth inning with one out and Pujols on first. Pujols clearly forgot the number of outs, as he rounded second when a fly ball was hit to center field. After catching the fly ball for the second out, Marisnick didn't have to break stride as he jogged over to first base for the putout to end the inning. Pujols didn't realize what happened until the third base coach pointed out his mistake.

Interestingly enough, it's not the first time that Pujols has lost track of the number of outs before, but this is the first time we've seen him do it in a game that counted. Hopefully Pujols will chalk it up as a lesson learned and pay more attention next time. It's the least he could do with all the money he's making for playing baseball.
