Derek Jeter was honored at the Kids' Choice Sports Awards on Thursday evening as he was given the Legends Award as a tribute to his legendary New York Yankees career. After giving his acceptance speech, Jeter was then drenched in gold slime.
The folks at Nickelodeon soaked David Beckham and his kids with the gold slime when he accepted the Legends Award last year at the inaugural Kids' Choice Sports Awards, so the tradition continues. At least going forward, the award recipients know to come dressed appropriately.
