Mariners fans lose caps while attempting to snag home run balls (Video)

Two Seattle Mariners fans attempted to catch home run balls with their caps and failed miserably, as they lost their caps in the process during Monday night's game against Baltimore.

One fan in center field tried to catch Adam Jones' home run to center field in the top of the first with his Mariners cap. The ball landed in the cap, but took the cap with it.

In the top of the sixth inning, another fan in center field tried to catch a Chris Davis home run with his Chicago Cubs cap, but the cap slipped out of his hand as the ball dropped in and fell in front of the stands.

Fortunately, both fans were able to get their caps back as stadium security was able to track them down, but they will serve as reminders of how close they came.

The key to catching a ball with your cap is using two hands. There's a San Diego Padres fan that will show you how it's done.
