Oilers forward Nail Yakupov injured as linesman drags him down (Video)

Edmonton Oilers forward Nail Yakupov suffered an injury in a bizarre incident during Wednesday night's game against Carolina when a linesman lost their balance and dragged him down to the ice with them.

It happened in the second period on a faceoff as linesman Matt MacPherson tripped over a stick while backing up after dropping the puck at center ice. MacPherson instinctively reached out and grabbed the bottom of Yakubov's jersey with his right hand and Yakubov's shoulder with his left hand. As MacPherson fell to the ice, Yakupov was pulled down on top of his own leg.

Yakupov was helped off the ice and did not return. That's a tough break.
