Romanian soccer coach stops own player from wasting time (Video)

Romanian soccer coach Gheorghe Hagi clearly values sportsmanship over winning, as proven when he forcefully stopped one of his own players from wasting time by exaggerating an injury during Saturday's FC Viitorul Constanta match against Liga I leaders Astra Giurgiu.

It happened in the first half as FCV winger Benzar Romario took a knee to the midsection from a defender near the sideline. Romario went down and flailed around in apparent pain to draw the attention of team medical staffers, who ran over to tend to him. However, Hagi, a legendary midfielder during his European football playing career, wasn't buying Romario's act.

Hagi ran down the sideline and physically pulled one staffer away, then told Romario to get back out on the field.

If only other soccer coaches would follow Hagi's lead, the occurrence of flopping in professional soccer would decline dramatically.
