Manuel Margot trots to first on ball three (Video)

San Diego Padres center fielder Manuel Margot forgot the count and tried to take a walk to first on ball three during his third inning at-bat during Monday's Opening Day game in Los Angeles.

Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw threw the 2-2 pitch in the dirt, and somehow Margot thought it was ball four. He trotted nearly all the way to first base before realizing that the at-bat wasn't over yet, forcing Margot to take the embarrassing walk of shame back to home plate.

Margot popped out to shortstop on the next pitch. He finished 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the game, but the Padres got shelled by the Dodgers 14-3. Not a great way to open the season.
