Russian soccer goalkeeper Anton Shunin injured by firework thrown onto pitch (Video)

The disturbing trend of soccer fans throwing explosives onto the pitch continued Saturday, with the latest incident taking place during a Russian Premier League match that took place in Russia with Zenit St. Petersburg hosting Dynamo Moscow.

The firework landed near the feet of visiting Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin and exploded during the 36th minute of the match. Referees abandoned the match and Shunin was brought to the hospital after suffering smoke irritation and apparent burns to his cornea from the explosion. According to the official Dynamo Twitter feed, Shunin says he is having some problems with his vision and hearing.

DISCLAIMER:
Holdout Sports does not condone this type of behavior.  It normally goes without saying that throwing anything at all onto the pitch, especially explosives, is a bad idea.  However, it's clear that there are some people out there that just don't get it.  To those people we say:  Knock it off, morons.
