German soccer mascot trips and head falls off (Video)

In Sunday soccer action from Germany, TSG Hoffenheim's 6-2 victory over VfL Wolfsburg was overshadowed by an embarrassing moment involving the team's mascot, Hoffi the moose, who not only tripped and fell down, but had his mascot head fall off.

It happened in the 43rd minute after Anthony Modeste scored to give Hoffenheim a 4-1 lead. Hoffi ran over to join the players in the corner of the pitch, but tripped over an advertising board and fell down. The man inside the costume braced himself to avoid a full faceplant but lost his mascot head in the process.

Midfielder Roberto Firmino was kind enough to help the man up as he put his moose head back on, but unfortunately this moment will live on infamy on the Internet forever. Talk about a tough day at the office.

Hopefully years from now, the man inside the costume will be able to look back and laugh about this, like the rest of us.
