Red Sox ball girl accidentally fields fair ball (Video)

A Boston Red Sox ball girl accidentally fielded a ball that was still in play during Friday night's game against Kansas City.

It happened in the top of the fourth inning as Royals batter Eric Hosmer pulled the ball fair down the first base line. The Red Sox ball girl instinctively scooped it up as it curved into foul territory, not realizing that the ball was still live. Her reaction was priceless once she realized her mistake, as she dropped the ball hoping no one noticed what happened. Unfortunately, she knew she was caught, and you could tell by her face that she felt guilty about it.

Red Sox ball girl accidental interference

In the end, the ball girl's interference probably didn't make a difference as Hosmer likely would have ended up at second anyway. The Red Sox ended up beating the Royals 5-4, so she can laugh about it now.
