Justin Tuck saves Raiders from embarrassing penalty (Video)

Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Justin Tuck saved the Oakland Raiders from what would have been an incredibly embarrassing penalty that would have seriously jeopardized their first win of the season during Thursday night's game against Kansas City.

It happened with under a minute left in the fourth quarter as the Chiefs were running the hurry-up offense down 24-20 to the Raiders with no timeouts remaining. On 3rd and 6 from the Oakland 45-yard line, Chiefs QB Alex Smith was sacked for a 7-yard loss by Raiders defensive tackle Antonio Smith. The Chiefs were left scrambling to run their 4th down play, but two Raiders linebackers, Khalil Mack and Sio Moore, were slow getting back to the line of scrimmage because they were too busy celebrating the sack.

It looked even worse given that Mack and Moore were 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage at the time:

The Chiefs were nearly able to snap the ball to draw a penalty on the Raiders, but Justin Tuck, who won two Super Bowl rings with the New York Giants, saved the day by calling a timeout, bailing out his younger teammates from what would have been a humiliating blunder.

The Chiefs threw an incomplete pass, ending the threat and wrapping up the Raiders win.
