Kevin Hayes' stick gets caught in Vincent Lecavalier's helmet (Video)

The stick of New York Rangers forward Kevin Hayes got caught in the helmet of Philadelphia Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier in an unusual moment during Saturday's game at Madison Square Garden.

Hayes lost control of his stick as he was bumped by a Flyers defenseman, and the stick somehow found its way through the ear hole of Lecavalier's helmet. Hayes went down to the ice and took Lecavalier down with him. Hayes tried to get up to follow the play, but had to give up when he realized his stick wasn't coming with him. As play continued, Lecavalier realized that the only way he could follow the puck was to take his helmet off.

It certainly was a strange sight to see a helmet laying on the ice with a stick through it. It's amazing how the whistle wasn't blown as soon as it happened.

In the end, Hayes ended up with an assist as the Rangers beat the Flyers 5-2.
