Colts CB Darius Butler mistaken for Malcolm Butler on Twitter

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Darius Butler was somehow mistaken for New England Patriots cornerback (and Super Bowl XLIX hero) Malcolm Butler on Twitter Sunday night, leading some fans to send him messages congratulating him on his big play.

It would seem that the fans missed several clues that might have tipped them off to the fact that Darius was not the man they were looking for. For starters, the profile for Darius Butler's Twitter account clearly says he plays for the Indianapolis Colts, and the profile photo shows a picture of him in a Colts jersey. The most obvious clue, however, would have to be his Twitter handle itself, which is @DariusJButler, with no reference to Malcolm whatsoever.

However, Darius Butler didn't let the case of mistaken identity get him upset. In fact, based on his responses to some of the messages, he actually had a lot of fun with it, even going so far as to agree with one fan who thought he should have won the Super Bowl MVP over Tom Brady.

By the way, Malcolm Butler's Twitter handle is @Mac_BZ.
