Ian Kinsler slams bat twice, gets ejected vs Baltimore (Video)

Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler was ejected for slamming his bat down in the direction of the home plate umpire after his third inning at-bat in Sunday's game against Baltimore.

Kinsler came up with runners on first and second with nobody out. After working a 2-0 count, Kinsler took a strike on a questionable call by home plate umpire Manny Gonzalez on a very low pitch, and it may have contributed to what happened next.

On the very next pitch, Kinsler hit a fly ball to center field. Clearly angry with the result, Kinsler slammed the bat on the ground, breaking it in half, then turned and threw down what was left of the bat behind him towards home plate. Gonzalez didn't take kindly to it and immediately ejected Kinsler, although he didn't realize he was tossed until he returned to the dugout.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus tried to argue on Kinsler's behalf, but to no avail.
