CC Sabathia falls off mound for balk vs Orioles (Video)

CC Sabathia falls off mound

New York Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia fell off the mound while delivering a pitch, resulting in a balk during the sixth inning of Thursday's game against Baltimore.

With two outs and Chris Davis on first, Sabathia was preparing to throw the 1-1 pitch to Orioles batter J.J. Hardy when his spikes got stuck in the dirt, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. The home plate umpire called a balk, allowing Davis to go to second.

Fortunately, Sabathia was not injured and finished the inning without giving up a run. However, Sabathia was taken out in the seventh after struggling in the seventh, and he took the loss as the Orioles beat the Yankees 4-1.
