Taj Gibson attempts to block shot with shoe

Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Taj Gibson showed total disregard of basketball rules during Tuesday night's game against Sacramento when he tried to block a shot with his shoe.

It happened in the first quarter when Gibson's shoe came off a few minutes into the game. Since the Kings had the ball and play was not stopped, Gibson picked it up and ran back to play defense. As Kings power forward Nemanja Bjelica made a move towards the basket, Gibson held up his shoe in an attempt to block the shot.

Fortunately for the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns was right behind Gibson and blocked the shot clock legally. No whistle was called on Gibson, so does this mean that this behavior is allowed? It shouldn't be. That could lead to total chaos.
