Miguel Cabrera licks ball after catching foul popup

Detroit Tigers Miguel Cabrera licked the ball after catching a foul popup during Friday night's game against the New York Mets.

It happened in the eighth inning as Mets batter Carlos Gomez hit a high popup in foul territory along the first base side. Tigers catcher John Hicks couldn't get a bead on it as the wind made it challenging to track down. However, Cabrera ran at least 50 feet to chase it down and made a sliding catch.

After the play, Cabrera licked the ball before tossing it to a teammate.

Now that's gross.

Cabrera went 2-for-2 with a home run and 2 RBI as the Tigers beat the Mets 9-8.
