Jerry Seinfeld tosses terrific first pitch at Mets game

Jerry Seinfeld throws first pitch at Mets game

Jerry Seinfeld threw a fantastic first pitch prior to Friday night's New York Mets game against Philadelphia.

Seinfeld wore a Mets cap and Jacob deGrom T-shirt underneath a sports jacket as he walked up to the mound. After shaking hands with deGrom, Seinfeld took off his sports jacket and slammed it down on the ground. Then, with an exaggerated windup, he threw a sidearm pitch for a perfect strike.

It was "Seinfeld Night" at Citi Field as the Mets paid tribute to the 30th anniversary of the debut of the legendary Seinfeld television series. Seinfeld is a huge Met fan, so it was only appropriate that the Mets celebrate his accomplishments.

Unfortunately, Seinfeld was not able to inspire his team to a win, as the Mets bullpen imploded again by giving up five runs in the ninth inning, turning a tie game into a 7-2 loss to the Phillies.
