SF Giants fan loses foul ball, drops glasses off upper deck

SF Giants fan loses foul ball and drops his glasses off upper deck 7/19/2019

A San Francisco Giants fan not only failed to catch a foul ball, but also lost his glasses over the railing of the upper deck during Friday night's game at Oracle Park against the New York Mets.

It happened in the bottom of the fifth as Giants batter Joe Panik hit a foul ball to the upper deck. The fan in the front row reached over the railing with his bare hand to catch the foul ball but couldn't get a grip on it. The fan watched the ball bounce to the lower deck and was understandably disappointed. However, as he pumped his fist in disgust, he accidentally made things worse as he hit himself in the chest and knocked his glasses out of his pocket. The Giants fan tried to grab the glasses, but it was too late as they fell over the railing and down to the lower deck below.
Now that's a double-whammy of suffering. No word as to whether the Giants fan got his glasses back, but we are confident that someone else ended up with that foul ball. Maybe next time, this fan will bring a glove to the game.
