Paul Stastny takes puck to mouth, picks up teeth off ice

Vegas Golden Knights center Paul Stastny took a puck to the mouth during Saturday night's game in Montreal, which knocked out a few teeth and left him a bloody mess.

It happened with less than two minutes remaining in overtime with the game tied at 4-4. Canadiens right winger Joel Armia tried to clear it quickly from the defensive zone, with Stastny going down to his knees in an attempt to block it. The puck deflected off Stastny's shoulder and hit him right in the mouth.

The referee stopped play immediately as Stastny recovered and had to pick up a few teeth from the ice. Armia came over to apologize as Stastny skated off the ice and headed straight for the locker room.

Stastny finished the game with one goal and one assist, but in the end, the Canadiens won the game 5-4 in a shootout.
