Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn was ejected for his dangerous hit on Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson during Wednesday night's game at the American Airlines Center.
It happened in the second period with the Stars holding a 1-0 lead. With the puck in the Stars zone, Ekman-Larsson chased a puck towards the boards when Benn came in from behind and shoved him into the glass head-first.
Ekman-Larsson went down hard and was taken off the ice, but did return to the game later on. Benn was given a game misconduct penalty for the dangerous hit, which was confirmed with a review.
In the end, the Stars beat the Coyotes 3-2.
