Snoop Dogg returns to LA Kings broadcast booth for '90s Night'

Snoop Dogg joins LA Kings broadcast 2/22/2020

Rapper Snoop Dogg joined the Los Angeles Kings television broadcast booth to bring his unique perspective to Saturday night's game against Colorado.

In January 2019, Snoop joined the Kings broadcast team of Alex Faust and Jim Fox for a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins and received rave reviews. It was only a matter of time before he received an invite back, and with the Kings holding "90s Night", it was the perfect opportunity. Snoop was decked out in full Kings gear, with a black Kings cap and white Kings jacket.

Snoop was hyping a new clothing store called "Snoopy's" which he's opening in Inglewood across from the new stadium where the Rams and Chargers will be playing. He also has an electronic gaming cafe that he is opening up for a younger generation of gamers.

Snoop also revealed that he will be in the new EA Sports NHL hockey game. Players will have the choice of having Snoop announcing the game for them. That would be fun. It's amazing how his appearance at one hockey game has opened so many new doors for him.

To top off a fun night for Snoop, Kings coach Todd McClellan invited him into the locker room prior to the game to reveal the team's starting lineup. Naturally, Snoop brought some of his trademark style for the announcements:

  • "Drew Doughty - no doubt."
  • "Up front, we gonna have Anze Kopitar - cuz you got the coke, you understand me?"
  • "19 - Alex I-follow (Iafollo) - do your job."
  • "Dustin Get-Down Brown - you know what time it is."
  • "In the back, we got Jonathan Quick, like quick to gettin' yo' ass."

The Kings loved it, and Faust and Fox had a blast as they did last year. Unfortunately, Snoop's presence didn't bring luck to the Kings, as they lost to the Avs 2-1 in a shootout.
