Barclay Goodrow leaves game as puck deflects into his face

Barclay Goodrow hit in face with puck, Flyers vs Rangers, 12/1/2021
New York Rangers right winger Barclay Goodrow headed straight to the locker room after the puck deflected up into his face during Wednesday night's game against Philadelphia.

It happened in the third period with the Rangers holding a 3-1 lead. After a faceoff inside the Rangers blue line, Flyers defenseman Keith Yandle took control of the puck and shot the puck towards the net. Goodrow blocked the shot, but the puck kicked up off his stick and right into his face near his right eye.

Goodrow went down immediately in front of the Rangers bench, with a trainer hopping out of the bench immediately to check on him. Goodrow was able to get up within seconds, but instead of heading to the bench, he skated off the ice and went right to the locker room. We hope Goodrow is OK, as this was painful for us just watching the replays.

In the end, the Rangers beat the Flyers 4-1 to keep pace near the top of the Metropolitan Division.
