Tom Wilson crushes Anton Blidh with tremendous hit

Washington Capitals right winger Tom Wilson destroyed Boston Bruins left winger Anton Blidh with a huge hit during Thursday night's NHL game at the TD Garden. 

It happened with under five minutes remaining in the first period and the score tied at 1-1. Blidh was inside the Caps blue line and dropped off a pass to teammate Erik Lauha when he was dropped by Wilson, who had him up lined up for a perfect hit.  Blidh was focused on the pass and didn't pick his head up to see Wilson until the last second, and by that time it was too late.

   

No penalty was called on Wilson, as it was a clean shoulder-to-chest hit. Blidh was able to skate off the ice under his own power and was sent to the locker room by Bruins medical staff for further evaluation. He did not return to the game.
