Ottawa Senators rookie left winger Tim Stutzle earned himself a fan for life when he gave a young fan an autographed stick in exchange for some gummy bears prior to Thursday night's game in Pittsburgh.
Since Stutzle was born in Germany, he understood and agreed to the terms. He skated over to the bench, grabbed a stick, signed it, and tossed it over the glass to the fan, who in turn tossed Stutzle the gummy bears.
During warmups prior to the game, a young Senators fan got Stutzle's attention with a sign written in German: "Hallo Tim! Tausche goldbaren geger schlager! Grub noah:" with a picture illustrating the proposed trade of Haribo Goldbaren gummy bears for the signed stick.
Stutzle went on to score a goal in the third period, which probably made the fan even happier on the way home. Unfortunately, the Penguins won the game 6-4.
