Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy blew an injured referee's whistle to stop play and allow the referee to get medical attention during Saturday's game against Southampton.
It happened in the 21st minute of the game, not long after Vardy opened up the scoring in the 17th minute to give Leicester City a 1-0 lead. Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew was chasing the ball as referee David Webb, who was officiating his first Premier League match, was following the play. Webb did not see Ayew running by him and they bumped heads. Webb took the worst of it and went down to the ground in obvious pain. Play continued until Hardy took charge, grabbing Webb's hand and blowing the whistle that he was holding.

Webb's injury led to a 12-minute delay in the match. When play resumed, Webb was replaced by fourth official Sam Barrott for the remainder of the match.
Officials at professional sporting events need to have their head on a swivel and be ready for anything. They can easily get injured if they are not careful. We certainly hope Webb is OK.
As for the game, Ayer scored a goal in the 44th minute, and Leicester City kept Southampton off the board to win the match 2-0.
