A fire broke out at a food concession stand on the concourse of Oracle Park prior to Sunday's San Francisco Giants game against Atlanta.
The fire broke out just before 11AM local time in the cooking area of the portable Fuku's Spicy Fried Chicken Sandos concession stand on the promenade level. It was a grease fire confined to the vendor booth and was quickly extinguished. However, the fire did lead to a temporary evacuation of the stadium, including players and staff of both teams.
Note the sign on the booth that says "Get it while it's hot!" We're pretty sure this this is not what they had in mind.
This comes just two days after some idiot threw a baseball from the stands of the upper deck behind home plate and nearly hit the home plate umpire during a live play in the game.
Fortunately, the Giants-Braves game started on time and the fire had no impact, at least other than (we would guess) the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandos stand being out of commission for the near future.
