Miami Marlins starting pitcher Ryan Weathers was accidentally hit in the head by a throw to second base by catcher Nick Fortes during pregame warmups prior to Saturday's game in Tampa Bay.
Weathers had just thrown his final warmup pitch and turned his head towards shortstop as he took a couple of steps towards third base. Meanwhile, Fortes caught the pitch and immediately fired to second base. Fortes nailed Weathers right on the top of his head.
You ever seen this before?

This is actually not the first time we have seen this happen. In a spring training game from March 2016, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Drew Hutchinson was hit in the back of the head by a throw from catcher AJ Jimenez as a Tampa Bay Rays runner tried to steal second base. Hutchinson was ducking down to avoid the throw, but Jimenez threw the ball low. Hutchinson was OK, but taken out of the game as a precaution.
Weathers was lucky as he was still able to pitch. He started the game with two perfect innings before giving up four runs (three earned) in the third inning on two singles, a double and a home run. He was taken out after three innings with the game tied at 4-4. Hopefully Weathers is able to make his next start.
