Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman shaved his mustache mid-game during Friday night's game in the Bronx against the New York Yankees.
Bregman is currently inactive after suffering a quad strain on May 23, but he was dressed in the dugout for Friday's game to support his teammates. Unfortuantely, the Yankees took a 7-0 lead after two innings. Although there was nothing he could do to impact the game on the field, Bregman thought he could bring the Red Sox some good luck by shaving his mustache. It threw NESN announcers for a loop when they saw him in the fifth inning without his mustache after having it to start the game.
Did Breggy shave mid game? 🤣 🪒

Believe it or not, this is not the first time we have seen a player do this. Back in 2019, after starting 0-for-3 from the plate, Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen shaved his mustache in between at-bats and promptly hit a single to break his slump.
As far as the Red Sox did score a few runs to pull things close, but the Yankees came away with the 9-6 victory. The Red Sox are 3-7 in their last 10 games, so it will take more than a shave to get the Red Sox out of their slump.
