Will Venable has fiery tirade after ejection for arguing balls and strikes (Video)

Will Venable angry after being ejected, White Sox vs. Rangers, 6/15/2025

Chicago White Sox manager Will Venable was ejected in the first inning of Sunday's game in Texas for arguing balls and strikes and made sure to get his money's worth while expressing his feelings to the home plate umpire.

It happened with two outs and nobody on with the game still scoreless. After walking Rangers leadoff batter Josh Smith walked, White Sox starter Aaron Civale got Wyatt Langford to ground into a double play. However, after Civale worked a 3-2 count on Corey Seager, Venable began expressing his frustration with the strike zone of home plate umpire Marvin Hudson.

Hudson apparently did not like what Venable had to say and ejected him. That set off Venable, who came out of the dugout and was visibly irate, getting in Hudson's face and throwing a series of F-bombs at him. Hudson did not back down, leading to a fiery confrontation that lasted about 30 seconds before Venable headed back to the dugout after feeling he got his money's worth.

Venable was so worked up about Hudson's strike zone that he was ejected from the game just 13 pitches into Civale's start. He hadn't even finished pitching to his third batter. Usually it takes a while for a manager a few innings to get upset with the home plate umpire's strike zone.

Civale ended up walking Seager and the next Rangers batter, but then got the third out without giving up a run. Unfortunately, Civale gave up runs in the second and fifth inning and took the loss as the White Sox could only score a run of their own. The 2-1 win puts the Rangers back at .500 as they extend their winning streak to four games.
