Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. made an incredible slide to avoid the tag at home plate during Thursday night's game in Seattle.
It happened in the top of the seventh inning with one out and the score tied at 1-1. Witt was on second base with a single (that knocked in the tying run) and a stolen base while Jonathan India was on third. With the infield in, Royals hitter Vinnie Pasquantino hit a single past first baseman to right field. India scored easily and Witt was waved home.
The throw by Mariners right fielder Dominic Canzone to catcher Cal Raleigh was perfect. However, Witt slid around Raleigh and kept his left hand up until he was all the way around Raleigh, then slapped home plate with his right hand.

Close plays at home plate are some of the most exciting plays in MLB. In this case, Witt made an amazing play. There was no dispute as he was clearly safe at home.
As luck would have it, Witt scored the game-winning run as the Royals beat the Mariners 3-2.
