'Red Panda' injured at halftime of WNBA Commissioner's Cup Championship (Video)

Red Panda injured during halftime, WNBA Commissioners Cup, Fever vs. Lynx, 7/1/2025

Rong Niu, the Chinese-American acrobat better known as "Red Panda", injured herself during the halftime show of Tuesday night's WNBA Commissioner's Cup Championship between the Indiana Fever and visiting Minnesota Lynx.

Red Panda is known for her act where she balances several ceramic or metal bowls on her head while riding on top of a 7-foot unicycle. She has become a popular feature act for many NBA and college basketball halftime shows.

Unfortunately, just a few seconds into her halftime act for Tuesday night's game, she lost her balance and fell from the top of the unicycle onto the court. She immediately grabbed her left forearm when she landed and appeared to be in major pain.

We have seen our share of interesting halftime shows over the years. Some shows were strange and some were hilarious. However, this was definitely scary to watch, and the last thing we want to see is someone get hurt. We certainly hope Red Panda is OK.

As far as the game, the Fever overcame the absence of their superstar player Caitlin Clark, who is sidelined with a groin injury, and the Fever beat the Lynx 74-59 to win the Commissioner's Cup.
