The Minnesota Twins scored three runs on a misplayed infield grounder by Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Edgardo Henriquez during Tuesday night's MLB game at Dodger Stadium.
It happened in the top of the seventh inning with one out and the bases loaded with the Twins looking to extend a 6-5 lead. Henriquez had just come out of the bullpen to pitch to Twins batter Royce Lewis in an attempt to get the Dodgers out of a jam.
On the 0-2 pitch, Lewis checked his swing and hit an infield grounder down the first base line. Henriquez chased down the ball and was forced to rush his throw to first. His throw was bad and went past not only first baseman Freddie Freeman but also second baseman Hyeseong Kim who was backing him up. The ball rolled all the way to the outfield wall in right field, where Andy Pages chased it down, but by that time Lewis made it to third base while all three runners crossed home plate, extending the Twins lead to 9-5.
This swing should probably not result in 3 runs.

Not great for the Dodgers. ⚾️😬 #MLBpic.twitter.com/XFKLE4oEZH
The three runs were charged to Will Klein, with only one of them earned. Henriquez was charged with the error, which turned out to be a painful one.
We have seen plenty of misplayed fly balls this year, with the occassional Little League home run. Watching three runs score on a checked swing grounder was as shocking as any of those plays, especially seeing it happen against the defending World Series champion Dodgers.
The Twins held off a late rally attempt by the Dodgers to win the game 10-7. Despite the loss, the Dodgers still hold a 3 1/2 game lead in the National League West.
