A tow truck drove across a race track during a live stock car race Saturday at Full Throttle Motor Speedway in Ontario, Canada, causing a collision with one of the race cars.
The incident occurred during the Bone Stocks race, with cars involved kept as close as possible to their original factory condition as possible so the competition is more about driver skill than performance enhancements. Although we have no doubt that the drivers in this race were skilled, they probably were not prepared for a tow truck to cut across the race track in front of them.
Based on the video passed along by Sickos Committee, the tow truck was on the outside of the track and appeared to be looking to get to the infield. We are guessing that the tow truck driver saw a gap with no race cars coming and thought he could make it across without interrupting the race. Alas, the tow truck driver either did not see the oncoming race cars or underestimated their speed, as by the time the truck made it halfway across, a race car on the inside of the track crashed right into it.

We have seen some strange incidents in NASCAR races before. Dillon Bassett once crashed into a sweeper truck on his way to pit row, and Danica Patrick had a good race derailed by a sneaker thrown onto the race track. This case, however, was completely avoidable, and we would guess the tow truck driver will not be allowed to any speedway race events anytime in the near future.
