Video: Blue Oyster Cult To Hold Free Concert In Support of New Arena for New York Islanders

On August 1st, Nassau County (N.Y.) residents will vote on a referendum to approve or reject a $400 million bond issue to finance a new arena for the New York Islanders.  The Islanders know it will be tough to get taxpayer support in these tough economic times, so they have enlisted some help from a local band:
The New York Islanders announced today that Long Island’s own, Blue Oyster Cult will play a free concert in support of a new arena on Wednesday, July 27. The show will start at 4 p.m. on the plaza outside of the Nassau Coliseum Box Office.

The classic rock legends are one of the many bands that have head-lined the Nassau Coliseum over the last 40 years. Blue Oyster Cult will play from their wide collection of hits, including “Burnin’ For You”, “Don’t Fear the Reaper” and “Godzilla.”
That's right - the Islanders knew exactly what they had to have:  MORE COWBELL!
