Iowa coach Fran McCaffery ejected for bumping referee (Video)

Iowa Hawkeyes basketball coach Fran McCaffery was ejected from Sunday night's game against Wisconsin for bumping a referee

Fran McCaffery ejected for bumping referee
Iowa was leading 41-39 with 11:51 left in the second half when McCaffery seemingly went crazy and received two quick technical fouls to get himself tossed. After getting his first technical for screaming at one official, McCaffery turned and charged another official, bumping him to get his second technical. Afterwards, McCaffery continued to go after the officials despite the best efforts of his assistant coaches to restrain him.

McCaffery went off the rails after Iowa seemed to get the short end of two consecutive possessions, with one on the offensive end where the officials did not call a foul, and another on the defensive end where an Iowa player was called for a foul.

Iowa lost the game 75-71, so it can be argued that McCaffery's ejection could have made the difference in the close game. McCaffery has had some public temper tantrums on the court in the past, so he may want to start looking into anger management counseling if he hasn't already. We shouldn't have to remind McCaffery that not only does this behavior have a negative effect on his team, but it's also not the best way to represent Iowa university.
