David Price's cup saves him from Joe Mauer's line drive (Video)

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price was fortunate that he was wearing a cup during Tuesday night's start against Minnesota, as it likely saved him from serious injury after being hit in the groin with a line drive.

In the top of the fourth inning, Twins batter Joe Mauer reached first base on an infield single after hitting Price in the groin with a line drive. However, Price was wearing the proper protection, and was able to smile afterwards and stay in the game. Price did give up a home run two batters later, but was able to get out of the inning.

Heading into the bottom of the fifth, Price is in position to earn the win as the Rays hold a 7-3 lead.
