Orioles ball girl makes great play....on fair ball (Video)

A Baltimore Orioles ball girl made a great play to field a ground ball in foul territory during Sunday's game against Toronto which will unfortunately be overshadowed by the fact that the ball was fair.

It happened in the fourth inning with a Blue Jays runner on first base as Edwin Encarnacion hit the ball that curved sharply down the line and bounced over the third base bag. The third base umpire correctly ruled fair, but as the ball curved into foul territory, the ball girl's instincts took over as she scooped up the ground ball. That immediately gave Edwin Encarnacion a ground rule double, leaving runners on second and third.

The ball girl shouldn't feel that bad. It was a nice play, and her mistake did not have any significant impact on the game. The Blue Jays runners came around to score, and they beat the Orioles 11-3.
