John Ryan Murphy singles off third and second base bags (Video)

New York Yankees backup catcher John Ryan Murphy got a rare start in Thursday's game against Baltimore and had a solid game, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Making this even more interesting, however, is that two of the hits that Murphy earned were infield singles that bounced off the third and second base bags. What are the odds?

In the first inning, Murphy hit a slow roller down the third base line. Orioles third baseman Manny Machado let it roll, hoping it would go foul as there was no way to throw out Murphy, but it hit the corner of the bag for a single.

In the fifth inning, Murphy hit a grounder up the middle that bounced off the second base bag and into center field for another single.

To top things off, Murphy also called a good game for starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka as the Yankees beat the Orioles 9-3.
